This movie will be divisive and its misleading marketing will do it no favors. This film is the best chivalrous epic film I have ever seen and undoubtedly one of the best films of recent years. The boy is knighted and passes a year of wicked pleasures, but the new Christmas is approaching. Gawain beheads the creature, but it takes its head back and repeats its prophecy, which now sounds like a death sentence. Gawain offers to take up his challenge and therefore can hit him first, but a year later he will have to go to a remote church to receive the blow back. I honestly don't know what more you can ask for from an A24 movie, and yet the whiners will have a field day with this one as they always do. For those who like to be intellectually challenged and aren't looking for quips and action scenes, this is a fantastic film with stunning cinematography, brilliant music and editing, and a great lead performance from Dev Patel.
